Between the 23rd of October and the 3rd of November 2013, ADU_2020 hosted different visits to the universities of Venezuela (Central University of Venezuela), Colombia (National University of Colombia) and Ecuador (Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil). Each Visit consisted on a meeting of two days, during which the visited institution highlighted their main areas of teaching and research. Also, they gave their curricular structure in the fields of Architecture, Design and Urbanism.

Some specific topics of interest during the visit were to understand the role of research in architecture and in which way it distinguishes itself from other research methodologies. Also, which is the appropriate way to incorporate theoretical subjects during workshops. Other activities held were to review student´s works and to meet with them in order to know about their concerns. Mostly, conversations dealt about the professional challenges that the future brings.
Among the different educational approaches that stood out were:
– The autobiographical portfolio developed in the Central University of Venezuela
– Conferences focused in the design processes led by renowned architects in the National University of Colombia.
– The Mapping works that students of the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil are conducting.
Finally, the beauty of the university campus never ceased to impress; especially the campus of the Central University of Venezuela declared a World Heritage site.
